AutoSwitch Model PEC-109
Automatically selects CNG or gasoline for electronic fuel-injected vehicles
What It Does
This is a simple, economical and fail-safe device that improves CNG utilization and eliminates manual switching between fuels. It senses pressure in the Compressed Natural Gas tank, and when pressure (equated to volume of fuel remaining in the tank) reaches a near "empty" point, it automatically switches to gasoline. As long as sufficient CNG is aboard, the Auto/Switch Model PEC-109 will ensure that CNG is the fuel used. If ever there is a failure in a system component, Auto/Switch controllers instantly switch to gasoline mode.
How It Works
Installation: the PEC-109 pressure sensor mounts to any standard CNG conversion kit. The control box and indicating lamp are compact so they can be mounted under the dashboard and connected to the sensor by weatherproof cabling.
Operation: Auto/Switch devices are designed to work with 2400-3600 psi CNG systems. When pressure inside the CNG tank drops to 250 psi, the PEC-109 controller switches to gasoline. It automatically returns to CNG when refueling raises the pressure to a level over 350 psi. The limit points prevent oscillating between fuels. The dash-mounted indicating lamp tells the driver which fuel his vehicle is using at all times.
