AutoSwitch Model PEC-111
Automatically selects CNG or gasoline for electronic fuel-injected vehicles and displays CNG fuel level
What It Does
This is a simple, economical and fail-safe device that improves CNG utilization and eliminates manual switching between fuels. It senses pressure in the Compressed Natural Gas tanks, and when pressure (equated to volume of fuel remaining in the tank) reaches a near "empty" point, it automatically switches to gasoline. As long as sufficient CNG is aboard, the Auto/Switch Model PEC-111 will ensure that CNG is the fuel used. The dash-mounted gauge displays relative fuel level from empty to full in 1/4 increments and the indicating lamp shows when gasoline is being used. If ever a system component fails, the Auto/Switch controller instantly switches to gasoline.
How It Works
Installation: The PEC-111 pressure sensor mounts to any standard CNG conversion kit. The control box and fuel-level guage are compact so they can be mounted under the dashboard and connected to the sensor by weatherproof cabling.
Operation: Auto/Switch devices are designed to work with 2400-3000-3600 psi CNG systems. When pressure inside the CNG tank drops to 150 psi, the PEC-111 control switches to gasoline. It automatically returns to CNG when refueling raises the pressure to level over 575 psi. The limit points preven oscillating between fuels.
