First Ever Alabama Energy Day Features CNG Vehicle


A bi-fuel CNG Chevy pick-up truck was one of several alt fuel vehicles featured Tuesday at the first Alabama Energy Day in Montgomery, Alabama at which the state’s Permanent Joint Legislative Committee on Energy released their 2008 Legislative Initiative. The proposed legislation, which will be taken up when the legislature convenes beginning February 5th, includes incentives for NGVs and other alt fuels and vehicles. New NGVAmerica member company Phoenix Energy Corporation and the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition (ACFC) participated in the event, which was addressed by State Senator Wendell Mitchell (Energy Committee Chairman), State Representative Gregory Wren (Energy Committee Vice-Chairman), Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries Ron Sparks and Department of Economics and Community Affairs Director Bill Johnson. About 130 attended the event including print and broadcast media.
